would love to hear what it was like, how it felt, and what was learned from those who were there!

let us live vicariously through you for a minute…

  1. I am sitting at my desk right now, at work, in a very tense climate, forgetting to breathe, swigging lattes and water, shuffling paper and pushing buttons, hardly laughing - it is 1:15 and I am not sure if I have smiled or laughed yet today.

Luckily, this is a very small part of my life. I don’t have to be emotionally attached, I don’t need to commit to this forever. The real lifestyle I live, want to live, is what the week at Wild Meadows was all about. Dance and movement played a huge role, but the resonant threadlines were breath, meditation, community and voluntary simplicity. With the luxury of time and space and minimal distraction all of these things could take the time necessary to discover. Like, out of stillness, being able to ride the inhale and exhale of the entire group and sink into it. And, taking an hour to transition from meditation in stillness to widening your perspective to the outer world. And, cooking a meal, drinking wine and having a good time in hilly farmland. There’s more, for another time.

  2. After morning breakfast at a large farm style dinning table, or out on the porch, we ramble alittle ways down a dirt road to the barn. Light streaming through the planks that make up the wall and we lie down on the wrinkled marley dance floor to begin. Most often, we begin in silence, or stillness. Slowly we arrive into ourselves, then with a partner or two, and finally with everyone. Some times we continue inward to deep sensing, other times we travel outwards into time and space and relationships. Lunch. More. Dinner. Evenings of jamming, intense conversations, alittle wine and finally sleep. We do it again.

  3. this sounds wonderful. ilana, i know just what you mean (from my own times at jams, workshops, other experiences) about feeling like that’s the place you belong and the lifestyle you want. the slowness, nature, togetherness, peace, space–it sounds really lovely. i think it’s what i could use, as well.
